Good evening, Union R-XI Families: We hope everyone is having a great school year thus far! We’d like to take a moment to share some information about the state testing that occurred this past spring. The Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) Grade-Level Assessments and End of Course (EOC) exams evaluate students’ progress toward the Missouri Learning Standards. The MAP Grade-Level Assessments include assessments in the subject areas of Communication arts (grades 3-8), Mathematics (grades 3-8), and Science (grades 5 and 8). The EOC, End of Course Assessments include assessments in the subject areas of Algebra I, Biology, English II, and Government. These assessments provide important information that contributes to decisions concerning individual students, groups of students, and educational programs. We have recently received your child’s Individual Student Report (ISR). This report includes an Achievement Level, which will describe his or her performance for the grade level and content area as Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, or Advanced. The report will also include a short description of the knowledge and skills that are typically demonstrated by students in each Achievement Level for their grade level and content area. We plan to send these reports home at the Middle School and High School with the first round of progress reports, as well as share them at the elementary schools at parent/teacher conferences. If you would like your child's report prior to that time, please reach out to your building counselor for the report. We deeply value our students and know that they are SO much more than a test score on paper; however, we are also extremely proud of the hard work they put in. We are excited to share in their accomplishments on these state assessments as their hard work pays off. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or we can help in any way! *Early release Fridays* Starting this Friday, 8/23/24, all schools will dismiss one hour early. The one hour early release is EVERY Friday to provide time for staff professional development. #Uproud

We know there were some delays today with dismissal, so we most certainly appreciate your patience. Parents and Guardians can now fill out the free and reduced meal application in the parent portal in just a few short steps. Follow the directions here to get to the application from within the parent portal. By filling this out, you will be exempt from paying the Chromebook insurance fee for the year! If you have questions about the free and reduced application, please contact our food service department at 636-583-5840.

*23/24 calendar update* Our Board of Education approved a slight adjustment to our current 23/24 school year calendar. Our last day of school, Thursday 5/23, is now going to be a half day (previously it was scheduled to be a full day). This means on Thursday 5/23 our elementary schools will dismiss at 11:45 am and our secondary schools will dismiss at 12:20 pm. Thank you and #Uproud! https://tinyurl.com/rxicalendar

Good morning, #unionrxi families: As you may be aware, there is a strong likelihood of inclement weather today. We have been monitoring and discussing the forecast with a focus on student and staff safety. At this time, the forecast includes the potential for severe thunderstorms, strong winds, hail and even possibly tornadoes. Due to the potential danger related to the impending weather forecast, we are canceling ALL after-school activities for today, Wednesday, 5/8/24. This includes ALL sports, practices, events, clubs and activities after school. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep our students and staff safe. #Uproud
