As previously communicated, we wanted to share some additional information about new legislation, SB 68, which prohibits students from using or displaying personal electronic communication devices when students walk through the school doors until the end of the school day, including, during instructional time, meal times, breaks, time between classes, and study halls.

It's our hope by removing access to personal devices during the school day, students will enjoy the benefits of a focused mind free from distractions. In addition to reducing digital distractions, this legislation aligns with our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

We've put together a dedicated page with additional information and answers to many of the questions you may have: https://www.unionrxi.org/page/student-personal-device-use

We appreciate your patience, cooperation and assistance in adapting to this change. This information will be shared with students leading up to the start of school, but any help you can provide in having these conversations with your child would be much appreciated.

Thank you and #Uproud.
