AP announcement

Last night at our regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting, our BoE approved the hiring of two new assistant principals for the 24/25 school year.

We are first excited to announce that Mrs. Jodie Schatz, current 3rd grade teacher at Central Elementary, will be Central Elementary’s new Assistant Principal for the 24/25 school year. Mrs. Schatz has been a teacher in our school district for over 20 years and has positively impacted the lives of countless students. Additionally, Mrs. Schatz has been one of our summer school administrators at Central Elementary for two summers.

“Mrs. Schatz has been a staple at Central Elementary over the course of her career, and I’m excited for her to have an even greater impact on our school community. I’m honored to have her working alongside me supporting our students and staff!”

- Claire Heaton, Central Elementary Principal

Additionally, we are excited to announce that Mrs. Ashley Smith, current Kindergarten teacher at Prairie Dell Elementary, will be Prairie Dell Elementary’s new Assistant Principal for the 24/25 school year. Mrs. Smith has over 15 years teaching experience and has worked in three different school districts with a wide range of elementary experiences. Mrs. Smith joined the Prairie Dell team two years ago and has loved being part of #unionrxi.

“In the two years that Mrs. Smith has been at PDE, she has built strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. Her positive energy, collaborative nature, and student centered approach are the cornerstones that will allow her to positively impact Prairie Dell Elementary as an administrator. I am excited for Mrs. Smith to join me on this journey at Prairie Dell Elementary!”

- Ryan Klein, 24/25 Prairie Dell Elementary Principal

The Central Elementary assistant principal role was vacant as a result of Mr. Ryan Klein being promoted to the 24/25 principal at Prairie Dell Elementary.

The Prairie Dell Elementary assistant principal role was vacant as a result of Mrs. Sally Phillips being hired as the Coordinator of Early Childhood Special Education.

Please give a huge shout out to these two current team members on their new positions!
