Mrs. Brinker is a UHS graduate and has been teaching middle school Language Arts for the past 11 years. Her husband, Mr. Ted Brinker, teaches at UHS and is thrilled for her to join the team. Their daughter, Mara, just turned two and is excited to grow up as a Wildcat, too! Mrs. Brinker is looking forward to supporting our teachers and working with our teams to positively impact the growth of our students.

Garett has lived in Union almost his entire life and is excited to be transitioning to a new role within the district. He has been married to his lovely wife for seven years, and we have they have the most amazing two-year-old daughter. His family loves to take walks, hikes, and little road trips.
Mr. Fitzgerald has been in education for four years, recently just finishing his second year as a teacher, and was a paraprofessional for two years before teaching. He is excited to be returning to UHS and eager to become a productive member of the team.

We are #UProud to welcome Mrs. Sarah Hurt to Team UHS (in a new role)!
Mrs. Hurt has been a member of the UHS Dream Team for the last 8 years teaching AP Biology, General Biology, Principles of Biomedical Science, Forensic Biology, and Disease and Medicine. Before UHS, she taught college biology labs at Washington State University while completing her Master's in Biology. Additionally, Sarah has been a Track & Field coach at Union for 7 years and continues to be the Cross Country coach.
Sarah's husband, Jordan, and daughter, Nora, love being a part of the UHS community! Nora happens to be Wilson the Wildcat's biggest fan. Their family loves to get outdoors for all the activities--especially when they get to go see animals!
Mrs. Hurt is really looking forward to stepping into a new role to help students figure out where they see themselves after high school and develop a plan that is right for them.

*23/24 calendar update*
Our Board of Education approved a slight adjustment to our current 23/24 school year calendar. Our last day of school, Thursday 5/23, is now going to be a half day (previously it was scheduled to be a full day).
This means on Thursday 5/23 our elementary schools will dismiss at 11:45 am and our secondary schools will dismiss at 12:20 pm.

Good morning, #unionrxi families:
As you may be aware, there is a strong likelihood of inclement weather today. We have been monitoring and discussing the forecast with a focus on student and staff safety. At this time, the forecast includes the potential for severe thunderstorms, strong winds, hail and even possibly tornadoes.
Due to the potential danger related to the impending weather forecast, we are canceling ALL after-school activities for today, Wednesday, 5/8/24. This includes ALL sports, practices, events, clubs and activities after school.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep our students and staff safe.
