WILDCAT WISDOM
Making mistakes is part of learning! Instead of focusing on getting everything right, help your child think about what the mistake can teach them.
Try this:
At dinner, everyone shares one mistake they made and one thing they learned from it.
Ask your child: “What did your mistake teach you?” “What could you change next time?”
Watch with your child: The Power of Making Mistakes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34U2K_c-s3k&t=29s

Yesterday Mrs. Gildehaus took her class to the library to interview Mrs. Sachs to find out why books are important.
Prairie Dell Elementary is excited to introduce a new weekly resource for our families, The Weekly Wildcat Wisdom!
Each week, families will receive a quick, practical Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) tip that connects to skills our students are learning at school.
Our first topic is Growth Mindset — “Our Brains Can Grow!”
The goal is to give families an easy way to continue these conversations at home. Each week’s post might include:
- A simple activity to try at home
- A question you can ask your student
- An at-home challenge
Take a few minutes this week to talk with your student about something they couldn’t do before that they can do now!
Small conversations can make a BIG difference.
Check out this quick video that helps explain Growth Mindset https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTbV6OvNiX8
Be sure to check back each week for some new Wildcat Wisdom!

Help us celebrate our kindergarten students' first days of school and independence by wearing red, white, and blue. Wednesday August 26th. All grades are welcome to join in the celebration. We are asking parents to allow students to walk independently into school. Thank you parents for all of your support!

Monday is the first day of school!
