Union R-XI Preschool

The Union RXI Preschool Program offers a quality, play-based learning experience in a safe and nurturing environment. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum fosters both academic and social growth.

The Preschool waitlist is full for the 2025-2026 school year.

We have three preschool classrooms in our district - one in each elementary school (Beaufort, Central, and Prairie Dell).  We try to place families in the building of home residency building where their children will attend elementary school, but some classrooms fill up faster than others.  If that is the case, and a family is next on the waiting list, they will have the option of the first open building. We offer part-time, where your child could attend on a Tuesday/Thursday schedule or a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule, as well as a full-time option where they would attend all five days of the week. We have monthly rates for our preschool programs depending on the programming your family chooses - T/TH students - $200 a month,  M/W/F students - $300 a month, Full-time (M-F) - $500 a month. We ask for a $50 deposit - prior to start date - this covers student school supplies. The student will be subject to dismissal if the account is thirty (30) days past due.

Each classroom consists of 20 students with two adults (one certified teacher and one paraprofessional). The regular school day is 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, but hours of care included in tuition are 6:45 am - 4:30 pm.  Breakfast, lunch, and a snack are provided daily, as well as a nap time in the afternoon.  All student supplies are provided through tuition costs. Students will need a backpack, blanket, and pillow for rest time. Students must be (3) three years old by August 1, 2025 to be eligible for the program. Students must be potty-trained. The Union RXI Preschool Program follows the Union RXI School District calendar.

We use Project Construct as our curriculum, which is a play-based structure that works school readiness skills into play opportunities for our children. This consists of some morning group routines and instruction, center-based learning time, as well as large motor/outdoor play. This website will dive into the details of Project Construct and how it supports our children's development:
